ABOUT ENTITYX

“Understanding how nuanced language-usage can be captured and modelled at scale is a fascinating challenge, and one with a massive application for advertising.”

— Tom Quick, Founder, EntityX

What is Next Generation Contextual?

We’re using our own cutting-edge Machine Learning & graph technology to take contextual targeting to a new level. Pages aren’t bags of words that fit into a few ad categories, but rather interrelated networks of explicit and implicit meaning, rich with signals about layers of audience interests and pathways for matching against brand and campaign goals.

Tom Quick

Founder & CEO

Tom has over 20 years’ experience of building & running tech & data-driven businesses, both technically and commercially. He’s built teams spanning software development, commercial development, management, and boards of directors, and has closed £1.8m of EIS funding for other businesses in the last four years, from funds, family offices and angels. He loves sitting at the intersection of tech innovation and commercial opportunity. His interest in semantic systems dates back to a degree in Philosophy, and perusing a Computer Science PhD in the 1990’s, in Adaptive Systems and Artificial Life. In previous digital agency leadership roles he’s delivered beautiful and data-driven creative marketing solutions for EE, Unilever, The Guardian, Mulberry, the BBC and British Airways. He’s also bought enough team lunches to make an accountant weep, and looks forward to many more.

Tim Flagg

Co-founder & COO

Tim has launched and grown brands around the globe for businesses such as Zipcar, NBC-Universal, Hutchison-Whampoa, McCann-Erickson and BBC-Worldwide. He has over 21 years experience in senior marketing and commercial roles, such as managing director of the Institute of Direct and Digital Marketing online, and founding director of the Academy of Digital Business Leaders. He is the host of the ClickZ digital marketing podcast (20k listeners) and the weekly ClickZ digital marketing webinars, as well as being a regular speaker.

Over the last few years Tim has focused on how consumer empowerment and data regulation is changing online advertising. Tim is co-founder and COO at EntityX.

EntityX began to build the Knowledge Graph and Interest Graph applications in 2015.

Nearly 5 years later, with a new commercial and technical focus, backed by investment and industry partnerships, EntityX is ready to fly. We’re applying this to digital advertising because now’s a great time to bring innovate solutions that don’t depend on invading consumers’ privacy, and because our graph tech enables a level of finesse and sophistication that hitherto has been the sole privilege of only the world’s largest ad platforms.
